Cycle Cambridge: programme and partners
Cycling Sorted is part of the Cycle Cambridge programme - to get more people cycling, more safely, more often in Cambridge and the surrounding villages.
In 2008, Cycling England awarded Cambridge National Cycling Town status which saw £7.2 million spent on cycling improvements until March 2011. The Cycle Cambridge programme includes:
- New cycle routes
- Improvements to existing cycling facilities
- Additional cycle parking
- Bikeability cycle training
- Cycling events and promotions
The funding provides a huge boost for cycling in Cambridgeshire and aims to encourage more bicycle journeys in the City, surrounding villages and new developments.
The Cycle Cambridge programme is being managed and delivered by Cambridgeshire County Council in partnership with Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council
